I do balaclavas for the shape, principally, not for anonymity, and certainly not for crime. Awful really, to think of how many poor victims every day will have to stand up in court, feeling, after all they’ve already endured, that all this is just a futile formality, and that the game is fixed for the worse. I miss the days when criminals took pride in their work, and you could say, “It was him, officer! The one with the glass eye and the double cigar holder!” Or, if they did wear a mask, it would be that of a yeti or a zombie, or at least a standard Hamburglar.
